1. A JavaScript-enabled browser such as FireFox 1.x or later, Safari 1.x or later, Netscape 6.x or later, or Microsoft IE 5.x or later.

2. Free Macromedia Flash Player 7.0 or newer.
   

   If you need to install Macromedia Flash Player, you may either install it from the folder "flash-players" on this CD, or download the most current version from www.macromedia.com.
    
   

   

To avoid using CDs each time you access the Science Builder Series, you may copy the entire CD-ROM content to your hard drive. You may then access the program by browsing to the saved location and double-clicking the "sci_35.htm" program file. You can also create a shortcut to the sci_35.htm file on your desktop.

1. Create a folder on your server such as "ScienceBuilder";

2. Copy the entire CD (or multiple CDs) into the folder on your server (if asked to overwrite files, select "yes" or "yes to all");

3. Create a shortcut on the desktop of each workstation to point to the "sci_35.htm" program file within the network folder;

4. Direct students to launch the application using the desktop shortcut icon.

On Windows machines, the shortcut may be created by right clicking on the desktop, then selecting New, Shortcut, and browsing to find the sci_35.htm program file located on the server.

On Macintosh machines, the shortcut may be created by highlighting the sci_35.htm program icon on the server and selecting Make Alias from the File drop-down menu (command+L). This alias can be placed on the desktop.
